There’s this little show getting just a teensy bit of publicity right about now… something about Dragons? Ah, yes, HBO’s House of The Dragon, which in Australia is a Foxtel exclusive. But how important is the return to Westeros to Foxtel’s ambitions, and what shows do its streaming rivals have in store for us this September?

Meanwhile, staying with streaming, there’s considerable kerfuffle around AFL streaming rights, with Channel 7 wanting one thing, Foxtel wanting another, and your average footy fan just wanting to watch the footy with minimal fuss. Who’s in the right, who’s in the wrong and why isn’t this stuff more explicitly covered by the anti-siphoning laws?

Also in the news and the show this week, Telstra’s making the Wi-Fi that you can get through its payphones free — but not all of them at once. What’s Telstra’s play here, and what does it mean for its once-vaunted “Telstra Air” initiative?

We’re joined this week to talk through the week’s tech news by TV Blackbox’s one and only Steve Molk!
